AgileThought MVP Discusses Agile Project Management at PMI Tampa Bay
TAMPA, FL (February 7, 2012) – Oleg Sych, an AgileThought Solutions Architect and Microsoft MVP, will present Agile Estimation and Project Planning at the monthly dinner meeting of PMI Tampa Bay on Monday, February 20th and at a lunch meeting on Tuesday, February 21st.
Over the past two decades, agile project management emerged as an alternative to the traditional waterfall approach. Over the last few years the agile approach matured and gained a wide acceptance with several organizations now offering training and certification programs, including PMI with its PMI-ACP (Agile Certified Practitioner) certification. While it is best known in the software development industry, agile has deep roots in manufacturing and can be applied to a wide range of projects.
Oleg will offer an overview of agile estimation and project planning with user stories and Scrum. He will also explain the following:
- Fundamental agile principles, such as story points and product backlog.
- Agile activities, such as sprint planning and backlog grooming.
- Differences between agile and traditional approaches.
Oleg has been a professional software engineer since 1993, building distributed enterprise applications since 2000 and working with .NET technologies since 2002. He holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science, as well as MCSD, MCPD, PSD and PSM certifications. He also received the MVP award from Microsoft in 2009, 2010 and 2011.
